How to Convert MP4 to Lottie for Web and Apps

A normal MP4 is pixel video. A classic Lottie animation is vector data. Converting arbitrary footage into a tiny, editable vector Lottie is not something a browser can do automatically with reliable quality. The practical workflow is different: extract frames, remove or preserve transparency where possible, and package the result in a format that fits your product.

Shorter duration, lower frame rate, and smaller dimensions are the biggest wins. A 3-second loop at 24 fps and 512 px can feel crisp in UI, while a 12-second 1080 px clip may be too heavy for a landing page.

Preview the keyed result on the background where it will appear. Green spill and hard matte edges often become visible only after the clip sits on the real UI color.
